Album Review & Streaming Music Posted: ESSENZ - 'Mundus Numen'

by Axes To Grind on 05/15/12

Stepping out of the traditional channels of death/doom metal, Germany's Essenz deliver some enthralling audible mysticism on their second full-length, Mundus Numen.  I enjoyed this album quite a bit, and as a death/doom metal junkie, this album gave me some different elements I don’t normally experience in traditional or contemporary death/doom offerings.

Live Show Review Posted: Flying Donkey Punch at Larry O's Lounge

by Axes To Grind on 05/15/12

Tucson’s Flying Donkey Punch headlined a great night of metal Saturday at Larry O’s in Northeast El Paso. It has been about four months since the last metal show at Larry O’s, and having Flying Donkey Punch with local support from As They Suffer and Pistol Whipping a Blind Kid was a great way to bring metal back to the Northeast.
